Summary: During the summer of 1936, the revolt in Spain and the consequent civil war surprises the bourgeoisie from Barcelona at the height of their holidays. In a small village near to their town, a number of families, all of them friends, decide to stay in their summer houses and wait for the war to finish. For the kids it turns out to be a long and unexpected vacation. Among the elderly, instead, their outlook will differ as the conflict worsens. The bombings of Barcelona and the prolongation of the war will result in scarcity in food, provoking unforseen adventures to avail of provisions, and eventually the confrontation of those who used to be friends.
