Se analiza el derecho a la ciudad como una propuesta que ubica al ciudadano como elemento principal de la ciudad que ha construido y que constituye una de las principales aportaciones humanas a la sociedad. El ciudadano debe convertirse en eje vertebrador de todas las políticas urbanas lo que constituye una ciudad de los ciudadanos. Desde hace varias décadas existen apuestas por una ciudad sostenible y más recientemente por una ciudad inteligente. Se valora la oportunidad de estas estrategias para potenciar o no el derecho a la ciudad y constituir, por ejemplo, un garante de acceso a un medio ambiente urbano saludable, un derecho fundamental
Abstract: Analysis of the right to the city as a proposal that places the citizen as the main element of the city that has built and constitutes one of the major human contributions to society.
