They are organized under the reigning French king. The first sequence of 30 plates bears numbers from several partial sequences. The plates numbered 1-30 that follow, however, are arranged in order from Hugh Capet to Louis XIV. They depict the arms of the king, his consort, and notables of the period. Most plates in this sequence are signed by Boisseau, so the sequence must have been produced between accession of Louis XIV in 1638 and Boisseau's death, probably in 1658. The plates in the first sequence have the same etched border as the second, so they were presumably produced by or for Boisseau as well There is no title leaf. The 1st leaf is a full-page depiction of Jason holding the golden fleece, in an oval surrounded by the chain of that Order.
