Many are by Bernard Salomon. It may have been intended as an "album amicorum" to be inscribed by friends of the owner, like de Tournes' Thesaurus amicorum of about the same time. The cuts depict scenes from an edition of Terence, hunting scenes, allegories of planets, physiognomic male and female heads, scenes from Jean Bouchet's Angoisses et remedes d'amours (1550), and others.
