1975 was a year of political assassination attempts, Soviet inconsistencies and the deaths of some of the world's leading figures. Successor to Nixon, President Gerald Ford survived not one but two attempts on his life in September of '75. It was also a year when the Soviet Union tried to deflect attention away from their atrocious human rights record by launching a number of dramatic space missions. Among those who lost their lives in 1975 was beloved figure of the Rastafarian movement, Haile Selassie, known as the "King of Kings" and "Lion of Juda". Bob Marley once used his words in a song to protest violence and civil unrest in Africa
