"Cistaceae" from A. J. Cava...
We present a brief description of one set of Cistaceae deposited in the herbarium of the Real Colegio Alfonso XII of San Lorenzo de El Escorial. All of them belong to A. J. Cavanilles herbarium. The historical importance of these sheets is increased due to the fact as among them 6 sheets are type materials (Cistus cinereus Cav., Cistus dichotomus Cav., Cistus glaucus Cav., Cistus mollis Cav., Cistus serratus Cav. and Cistus violaceus Cav.) and 3 were used for Willkomm & Lange (1861-1880) as reference in order to establish the species corology in the classic Prodromus Florae Hispanicae
Presentamos una colección de Cistaceae españolas procedentes del herbario de Antonio José Cavanilles que se encuentran depositadas en el herbario del Real Colegio Alfonso XII de San Lorenzo de El Escorial. A su indudable interés histórico se añade que en los 13 pliegos presentados, hay material tipo de 6 especies (Cistus cinereus Cav., Cistus dichotomus Cav., Cistus glaucus Cav., Cistus mollis Cav., Cistus serratus Cav. y Cistus violaceus Cav.) y otros 3 fueron referencia para la distribución de las especies en el Prodromus Florae Hispanicae de Willkomm y Lange (1861-1880)
