Entre cálculo racional y comportamiento reglado

Between Rational Calculation and Enforceable Behaviour This paper examines the turmoils economists and sociologists often find themselves while arguing over the ultimate promoter of human deeds. Both the pursuit of self-interested calculation or the abiding by rules are paths that call for conceptual reasoning. Such reasoning is quite uncommon among social scientists. Victor Banbergs book Rationality and Rules is a good example of said failure. Despite promoting a closer approach between both sciences (economics and sociology), it shows a unilateral treatment of this issue and leads the author to a reduction that prioritizes calculation as the ultimate impulse

En este trabajo se intenta mostrar los atolladeros a los que se arriba en el debate instalado entre economistas y sociólogos en lo referente al impulsor último de la acción humana. Sea el cálculo autointeresado o el seguimiento de reglas, ambas vías de acceso requieren una elucidación conceptual que suele estar ausente entre los científicos sociales. La obra de Víktor Vanberg, Racionalidad y reglas, es un buen ejemplo de ello, pues si bien promueve un acercamiento entre ambas ciencias sociales (economía y sociología), reviste cierta unilateralidad en el tratamiento de la cuestión, lo cual lleva al autor a una reducción que privilegia el cálculo como impulso último
