De la revelació no només ens venen veritats que superen la raó, sinó també altres nocions a les quals, tot i no ser pròpiament sobrenaturals, el pensament humà potser no hauria arribat mai sense l'ajut de la revelació. Aquestes veritats naturals vingudes per vies alienes a la reflexió s'incorporen de mica en mica a la cultura universal i fecunden les intelligències, i les impelleixen molt més enllà, però sense transcendir l'ordre propi natural i sense fer-hi violència. Això és l'humanisme cristià, que cal distingir de la confessionalitat humanística i de l'apologètica. En el darrer epígraf d'aquest assaig s'ofereixen alguns exemples que mostren com la revelació esperona la reflexió humana i fecunda l'activitat científica
Revelation not only provides us with truths that surpass reason, but also other notions at which, although not supernatural in themselves, human thought might never have arrived without the help of Revelation. These natural truths are the result of pathways that involve no reflection, are gradually incorporated into universal culture and nourish intelligence, as well as propelling them forwards, however without transcending their own natural order and without violence. This is Christian humanism, which must be distinguished from humanistic and apologetic confessionalism. The final epigraph in this essay offers some examples that show how Revelation stimulates human reflection and nourishes scientific activity
