"Revalorizar el Saber Ances...
The aim of the Project of University Volunteer "Revaluing the Ancestral Knowledge" was to recover popular knowledge related to the tradition of using and exploiting plants with aromatic and medicinal value. This project was carried out by the students and teachers of the UNRN acted as interlocutors between the elderly knowledge and the new generations, who ignore this knowledge. Were presented testimonies on the use of plants with curative or nutritional value properties were presented in recreation environments. In order to claim part of our intangible cultural heritage, this knowledge was transferred to the entire community, thanks to the multiplier effect of teachers and students. Through different activities, socio-cultural processes through were revitalized the collective construction and intergenerational exchange of popular knowledge and practices associated with the use and exploitation of plants, thus promoting the conservation of local cultural heritage. The results of the surveys showed the existence of a possible communication gap in the transmission of knowledge between older and younger adults. Finally, we emphasize that the reflection on extension practices shows an important social function and constitutes a formative process integrating university-society
El Proyecto de Voluntariado Universitario "Revalorizar el Saber Ancestral" tuvo como objetivo general reivindicar y capitalizar saberes populares de los adultos mayores sobre el uso de plantas, como actores protagónicos y no sólo como beneficiarios. Fue ejecutado por alumnos y docentes de la Universidad Nacional de Río Negro (UNRN), Argentina. En un ámbito de esparcimiento e intercambio, se sistematizaron experiencias y se registraron testimonios sobre el uso de plantas con propiedades curativas o de valor alimenticio. A fin de reivindicar parte del patrimonio cultural inmaterial, esos conocimientos fueron compartidos con la comunidad, en talleres y encuentros que facilitaron la comunicación intergeneracional y entre pares. A través de diferentes actividades se lograron revitalizar procesos socioculturales a partir de la construcción colectiva y el intercambio intergeneracional de saberes y prácticas populares asociados al uso y aprovechamiento de las plantas, promoviendo de este modo, la conservación del patrimonio cultural local. Los resultados de encuestas mostraron la existencia de una posible brecha comunicacional en la transmisión de saberes entre adultos mayores y jóvenes. Finalmente, destacamos que las prácticas extensionistas cumplen una importante función social y constituyen un proceso formativo de estudiantes voluntarios, docentes, y otros actores sociales, actuando como factor integrador del vínculo universidad-sociedad
