This article analyzes the memory of a group of leaders of the student movement at the University of Chile against the dictatorship of Augusto Pinochet. Recalling their discourse on the emotional aspects of their experience as students, using as source a set of interviews, and student publications of the period under study as well, our text aims at providing a new perspective on historical understanding regarding anti dictatorial university movement. Plausibility of emphasis on emotional dimensions of the student experience is evaluated, lightening them through two contrasting interpretative cores: the theory of emotional generational rebellion, in the version developed by Lewis Feuer (1969), and the new social movements. Taking advantages of the sources indicated, we come to conclusion it is necessary to enrich the historical study of opponents students at the University of Chile during dictatorship appealing to the complex interplay between emotions, speech, ideology and political practices, deconstructing essentialist views about the student movement, which tend to exaggerate the sacrificial and messianic ideological dimension as one of its essential factors.How to reference this articleToro Blanco, P. El presente artículo analiza la memoria de actores relevantes del movimiento estudiantil de oposición a la dictadura de Augusto Pinochet en la Universidad de Chile. Mediante la reconstrucción de su discurso en torno a los aspectos emocionales de su experiencia como alumnos opositores, empleando como fuente un conjunto de entrevistas, así como también a través de la consulta de algunas publicaciones estudiantiles de la época en estudio, el propósito del texto es brindar una nueva arista de comprensión histórica respecto al movimiento universitario anti dictatorial. Se discute respecto a la plausibilidad de enfatizar las dimensiones emocionales de la experiencia estudiantil en la época, analizándolas a la luz de dos núcleos interpretativos contrastantes: la teoría de rebelión emocional generacional, en la versión desarrollada por Lewis Feuer (1969) y la de los nuevos movimientos sociales. Tras el análisis de las fuentes señaladas, se arriba a la conclusión de que es necesario enriquecer la mirada histórica a los estudiantes opositores de la Universidad de Chile en dictadura apelando a la compleja interacción entre emociones, discurso, ideología y prácticas políticas, colaborando de esta manera a una deconstrucción de visiones esencialistas sobre el movimiento estudiantil, las que sobredimensionan la dimensión ideológica sacrificial y mesiánica como uno de sus factores constitutivos.Cómo referenciar este artículoToro Blanco, P.
