During the Spanish Civil War, many artists collaborated in both sides helping in propaganda. Through the years, media like the posters have been of great interest for researchers from several fields. Nevertheless, during the conflict, the graphic illustration was also issued in other media like journals. The great number of drawings that were published in a vast quantity of newspapers requires an ambitious research but, in this paper, information about the representations in Spanish communist newspapers is offered
Tras el estallido de la Guerra Civil en España, multitud de artistas plásticos colaboraron en ambos bandos en tareas con fines publicitarios. A lo largo de los años, medios como el cartel han llamado notablemente la atención de investigadores e investigadoras de diferentes ámbitos, pero la producción gráfica durante el conflicto también se difundió desde otros soportes como la prensa. El elevado número de dibujos que se publicaron en la infinidad de periódicos en los dos frentes requiere de un estudio de gran calado, aunque desde este artículo aportamos información para comprender el tipo de representaciones que poblaron los diarios comunistas en la España republicana
