Activismo ambiental en los Pedregales de Coyoacán (México)

This paper analyzes the implications of urban environmental activism. The consequences of environmental deterioration may have a direct relation with the emergence of social protest in contemporary cities. This aper uses qualitative methodology to study the case of the General Assembly of Peoples, Neighborhoods, Communities, and "Pedregales" (Rocky Grounds) of Coyoacán, Mexico. Urban environmental activism transforms the meaning of citizenship and territory, contributing to the construction of alternatives that enerate expectations of environmental justice

En la actualidad son innegables las consecuencias del deterioro ambiental urbano, teniendo como correlato la emergencia de la protesta social. Este trabajo reflexiona sobre las implicaciones de la protesta y el activismo ambiental urbano en las ciudades. Se utiliza metodología cualitativa para analizar el caso de la Asamblea General de los Pueblos, Barrios, Colonias y Pedregales de Coyoacán (AGPC). El activismo ambiental urbano produce una actualización y reconfiguración del significado de la ciudadanía y del arraigo territorial, contribuyendo a la construcción de alternativas con expectativas de justicia ambiental
