Acção da massagem terapêuti...
This study aims to verify the effects of therapeutic massage in a cancer patient with uncontrolled pain, at the level of vital signs and general sensations reported after sessions. It was selected, a participant, who experience for the first time massage therapy applied by therapeutic massage group from IPOFG of Coimbra- Portugal, in the time period from February to March 2011. This was realized a development a scientific study of case that assessed the vital signs in three sessions spaced one week between them, on two occasions: before the application of massage therapy and after applying it. The assessment allowed made a cross-sectional comparison, which analyzes the results of comparison between sessions, and it was possible, too, the evaluation of longitudinal comparison, which was allowed analysing the results obtained on the two moments of evaluation along three sessions. It was concluded that there were more obvious differences between the first session and third session, having been obtained in the absence of pain levels in the last session. At the end of the third session the participant had achieved widespread improvements, characterized by the decreasing intake of anti-depressive medication, which she regularly took
O presente estudo tem como objectivo verificar a acção da massagem terapêutica num doente oncológico com dor não controlada ao nível dos sinais vitais e efeitos gerais relatados após sessões. Foi seleccionada uma utente que acedeu pela primeira vez ao grupo de massagem terapêutica do IPOFG Coimbra no período temporal de Fevereiro e Março de 2011. Esta foi sujeita a um estudo de caso que avaliava os sinais vitais, em três sessões espaçadas, com uma semana entre si, em dois momentos: antes da aplicação da massagem terapêutica e depois da aplicação desta. A avaliação permitiu realizar uma comparação transversal, que analisa os resultados entre sessões e uma comparação longitudinal que permitiu avaliar os resultados entre os dois momentos de avaliação realizados nas três sessões. Concluiu-se que existiram diferenças mais evidentes entre a primeira sessão e a terceira sessão, tendo-se obtido níveis de ausência de dor na última sessão. A participante do estudo refere, no final das três sessões, melhorias generalizadas tendo conseguido prescindir do anti-depressivo que regularmente ingeria
