The first part of the study offers various perspectives on the connection between Marechal's novel Adan Buenosayres (1948) and Joyce's Ulysses (1922). The difference between those who consider it plagiarism and those who see an emulation of Ulysses in Adam shows how complex the comparison of texts can be. The second part of the research offers, in a synthetic way, the most relevant theoretical issues about intertextuality and focuses on the readings of Joyce's novel that Marechal carried out. The work closes by revealing formal aspects and content that both works share, which have not yet been developed in detail. The final conclusion proposes that Adan and Ulysses fulfil the same function within the literary field of their countries of origin
La primera parte del trabajo consiste en ofrecer las diversas perspectivas críticas acerca de la vinculación entre la novela de Marechal Adán Buenosayres (1948) y el Ulises (1922) de Joyce. La diferencia entre quienes la consideran un plagio y aquellos que ven en el Adán una emulación del Ulises evidencia la complejidad a la hora de abordar la comparación entre textos. La segunda parte de la investigación ofrece, de manera sintética, las problemáticas teóricas más relevantes acerca de la intertextualidad y, a partir de aquí, se centra en las lecturas que Marechal llevó a cabo de la novela joyceana. El estudio se cierra dando a conocer aspectos formales y de contenido que comparten ambas obras y que aún no han sido desarrollados en profundidad. La conclusión final propone que el Adán y el Ulises cumplen una función similar del campo literario de sus países de origen
