Análisis de Redes Sociales y venta de tierras: un estudio de caso de Chile en perspectiva histórica // Social Network Analysis and land sales: a case study of Chile from a historical perspective

This note is part of a research project on land sales networks in a Department of Chile between 1820 and 1850. It seeks to identify the intermediaries in one of these networks and explain their function as articulators. The notarial information was processed through UCINET software, measuring the betweenness centrality indicator. The results highlighted middle owners as the main intermediaries. It is concluded that this intermediation in the distribution of tacit information- concerning limits and rights associated with the use of the land- is of utmost importance

La nota integra un proyecto de investigación sobre redes de ventas de tierras en un Departamento de Chile entre 1820 y 1850. Se busca identificar los intermediadores en una de estas redes y explicar su función como articuladores. La información notarial se procesó a través del software UCINET, midiendo el indicador de intermediación. Los resultados destacaron a los medianos propietarios como los principales intermediadores. Se concluye la relevancia de esta intermediación en la distribución de información tácita sobre los límites y derechos asociados al uso de la tierra
