The present investigation alludes the most important happenings and personages in Ecuadorian History, referring to Touristic Sector growing in the different modalities; despite in some passages of our History we didnt have knowledge about that activity, but indirectly it was given to establish a National Touristic System. The present investigation takes a path by the different history categories: Hunter society, collector/nomads, incipient agricultural societies/sedentary, superior agricultural societies, supra community agricultural societies and government societies; without forgetting the Incas, Colony, Republic and Independence. The presented results are used to determine if idleness took part of the daily activities of the different pre Columbian in the different phases. Which was the worth that the town gave to these activities? At the same time, we must remark that the analysis is given in base to which activities of idleness they did, because they did not practice Tourism, as it means; it was wedged at the middle of the XVIII century in Europe; thats why it would be illogical to look for in the history records about this activity or the term itself; but it is possible to analyze which were the activities of idleness that have grown, and which have been present in the different spaces and personages of our history
La presente investigación hace alusión a los acontecimientos y personajes más importantes en la historia del Ecuador referentes al crecimiento del sector turístico en las diferentes modalidades a pesar que en varios pasajes de la Historia no se tenía conocimiento sobre dicha actividad pero indirectamente se aportaba para que con el tiempo se establezca el sistema turístico nacional. La investigación realiza un recorrido por las diferentes categorías de la historia: las sociedades de cazadores recolectores /nómadas, sociedades agrícolas incipientes /sedentarias, sociedades agrícolas superiores, sociedades agrícolas supracomunales y sociedades estatales. Sin olvidarse de la presencia incásica, colonia, independencia y república. Los resultados que se presentan sirven para determinar si el ocio formaba parte de las actividades cotidianas de las diferentes fases culturales precolombinas en el país, cuál era el valor que los pueblos le daban a esta actividad? al mismo tiempo se debe recalcar que el análisis está dado en base a qué actividades de ocio se realizaban mas no si existía turismo, ya que el término como tal, se lo acuñó a mediados del siglo XVIII en Europa, razón por la cual sería ilógico tratar de buscar en los anales de la historia referencias sobre esta actividad y este término en particular, pero si es posible analizar cuáles fueron las actividades de ocio que se han desarrollado y han estado presentes en los diferentes espacios y personajes de la historia
