The history of reading is a tradition that has proliferated in Argentine academia in the last few decades, especially for the studies about the nineteenth century. The product has been a bibliography that sows the study of readers as historical subjects. This construction, we propose, has been made upon a series of theoretical and methodological consensus, in spite of the fact that the starting point was among different disciplinary traditions within the social sciences. Pondering on what has been done, and keeping in mind what is to be done yet, in this article we propose a theoretical dialogue that reflects on the manner that the history of reading has been practiced in our country. We will star with a brief state of the art, dedicated to identify the theoretical underpinnings of the work produce, to then suggest other traditions that may benefit the field of study and enlighten the problems at hand from a different perspective
La historia de la lectura se ha abierto paso en la academia argentina en las últimas décadas, ganando terreno sobre todo para el siglo XIX. El fruto ha sido una bibliografía que siembra el estudio de los lectores como sujetos históricos. Esta construcción, proponemos, se hizo a partir de una serie de consensos teóricos y metodológicos, a pesar que el punto de partida han sido diferentes tradiciones disciplinares dentro de las ciencias sociales. A partir del camino recorrido, y teniendo presente lo que falta por recorrer, en este artículo proponemos un dialogo teórico que reflexione acerca de cómo ha sido practicada historia de la lectura en nuestro país. Para ello partiremos de un breve estado de la cuestión, apuntado a identificar la adscripción teórica de lo producido, para luego sugerir otras tradiciones de trabajo que podrían abrir el campo de estudio e iluminar desde otro lugar los problemas a enfrentar
