Aportaciones de la arqueología al concocimiento sobre la historia militar romana

This paper presents a brief overview of Roman military archeology, placing a particular emphasis on recent scientific contributions in this field. Similarly, I discuss which have been the main theoretical approaches to this discipline and how they have influenced the preference for a specific field of study. Finally, I want to take an oppositing stance on the excessive compartmentalization of knowledge under multiple labels and defend multidisciplinary works that take into account the use of any kind of source

Este trabajo se plantea como un breve estado de la cuestión sobre la Arqueología militar de época romana, poniendo un especial énfasis en las últimas aportaciones científicas en la materia. Del mismo modo, se discuten cuales han sido los principales planteamientos teóricos de la disciplina y como estos han influido en la preferencia por unos campos de estudio concretos. Finalmente, queremos posicionarnos en contra de la excesiva compartimentación del conocimiento bajo múltiples etiquetas y defender la apuesta por trabajos de carácter pluridisciplinar que tengan en cuenta el recurso a todo tipo de fuente
