Aprovechamiento de plantaci...
The analysis of the forest use of cultivated forests (forest plantations) in the province of Imbabura consisted of determining the most used species based on the volume of wood extracted, the cantons with the highest concentration of plantations and the dynamics of exploitation by species, which will allow the approach of local policies to promote the sustainability of forest production in Imbabura, an activity that constitutes an important contribution to the microeconomics of the province because it involves several actors within its productive chain, directly and indirectly. The study was carried out in the province of Imbabura, located in northern Ecuador, and information collected in the forest harvesting programs was analyzed in a period of four years between 2015 and 2018, data provided by the Technical Office of Forest Production of the District Department of Imbabura of the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock. An average of 547 hectares have been used annually since 2015, mainly in the Otavalo and Ibarra cantons, the most demanded species are Eucalyptus and Pine. In Imbabura for forest exploitation, seven types of actors are involved, 84% of the producers who used cultivated forests, andhave a plantation area ofless than five hectares. Forest use since 2010 has tripled in Imbabura, and from 2015 to 2018 it has generated approximately three million dollars for the sale of standing timber, which indicates its contribution and socio-economic importance
El análisis del aprovechamiento forestal de bosques cultivados (plantaciones forestales) en la provincia de Imbabura consistió en determinar las especies más aprovechadas en función del volumen de madera extraído, los cantones con mayor concentración de plantaciones y la dinámica de aprovechamiento por especie, lo cual permitirá el planteamiento de políticas locales para impulsar la sostenibilidad de la producción forestal en Imbabura, actividad que constituye un importante aporte a la microeconomía de la provincia porque involucra a varios actores dentro de su cadena productiva, directa e indirectamente. El estudio se realizó en la provincia forestal entre el año 2015 y 2018, usando datos proporcionados por la Oficina Técnica de Producción Forestal de la Dirección Distrital de Imbabura del Ministerio de Agricultura y Ganadería. Anualmente desde el año 2015 se han aprovechado un promedio de 547 hectáreas, principalmente en los cantones Otavalo e Ibarra. Las especies más demandadas son Eucalipto y Pino. En Imbabura para el aprovechamiento forestal intervienen siete tipos de actores, el 84% de los productores que aprovecharon bosques cultivados, poseen un área de plantación menor a cinco hectáreas. El aprovechamiento forestal desde el año 2010 se ha triplicado en Imbabura, y desde el 2015 a 2018 ha generado aproximadamente tres millones de dólares por concepto de comercialización de madera en pie lo cual indica su aporte e importancia socio económico.
