The wedding ritual is an anthropological construction based on symbologies that impact individual and collective consciousness. This article describes those of this ritual in the case of Almoloya del Río, municipality of the State of Mexico. The ethnographic approach to this ritual identifies the way in which the rites that compose it allow the construction of a complex structure. His main contribution is the documentation of the set of practices and their ritual significance, through the testimony of their participants. This text characterizes the three stages of the wedding ritual that have been practiced in Almoloya del Río since the mid-twentieth century and to date, although with a tendency to change / disappear
El ritual de boda es una construcción antropológica plasmada en simbologías que impactan la conciencia individual y colectiva de sus participantes. El presente artículo describe y busca comprender las características del mismo en el caso de Almoloya del Río, municipio del Estado de México. La aproximación etnográfica a este ritual identifica la manera en que los ritos que lo componen permiten construir una estructura compleja que abona al sistema cultural tangible e intangible. Su principal aportación es la documentación del conjunto de prácticas y su significado ritual a través del testimonio de sus participantes. En este texto se caracterizan detalladamente las tres etapas del ritual de boda que se practican en dicho municipio desde mediados del siglo XX y hasta la fecha, aunque con una tendencia a la modificación/desaparición
