China has experienced a great demographic and economic growth in recent decades, which demands a high availability of energy resources. As its resources are insufficient, China has returned his gaze to Africa in order to supply and guarantee its energy security. Its presence on this continent has altered the energy map and the international landscape, resulting considerable geopolitical implications. Commercial energy relations with others countries have shown, over time, such a geopolitical background that the search for new energy supplies sometimes has exceeded the end condition to become a means. China has made Africa a valuable geopolitical instrument to strengthen its presence in the international arena, and today its energy policy is an instrument at the service of its foreign policy
China ha experimentado un crecimiento demográfico y económico en las últimas décadas que exigen una gran disponibilidad de recursos energéticos. Siendo sus recursos insuficientes, ha dirigido su mirada hacia África para abastecerse y tratar de garantizar su seguridad energética. Su presencia en este continente ha alterado el mapa energético y el escenario mundial, resultando de la misma considerables implicaciones de orden geopolítico. Las relaciones comerciales con otros países a razón de hidrocarburos han revelado, con el paso del tiempo, un trasfondo geopolítico nuevo, como se pone de manifiesto en África. Esto ha llevado a que, en ocasiones, la búsqueda de nuevos suministros energéticos haya dejado de ser un fin en sí mismo. En razón de ello, China ha convertido a África en un valiosísimo instrumento geopolítico para afianzar su presencia en el escenario internacional, siendo hoy en día su política energética, claramente, un instrumento al servicio de su Política Exterior
