We display an article which we are trying to explain from our point of view one of the most fascinating aspects in of the prieguenseethnography: the traditional elements of protection opposite to supernatural power, rites and in the belief of them. A short introduction and a necessary explanation must be made regarding the superstition's key ideas, blessing and sympathy magic. We will take over a thematic way which our obsession consists on having a relationship in between prieguensesprotector traditions and the other cultures nowadays or in the past, almost always in the Mediterranean context and above all, in the Andalusian one. To finalize, we will explain the importance of the Nazarene figure as a prieguenseProtector
En el articulo que presentamos a continuación tratamos de compendiar y explicar uno de los aspectos más fascinantes, a nuestro entender, de la etnografía prieguense: El de los elementos tradicionales de protección frente a las fuerzas sobrenaturales y los ritos y las creencias a ellos asociados. Tras una breve introducción y una necesaria explicación sobre el uso de los conceptos clave de superstición, bendición y magia simpática, recorreremos un camino temático en el que será nuestra obsesión relacionar las tradiciones protectoras prieguenses con las de otras culturas pasadas o presentes, casi siempre del ámbito mediterráneo y especialmente del andaluz. Finalizaremos con un apartado que explica la función del Nazareno como gran protector de los Priego y su comarca
