Introduction.- Sometimes the othorrynolaryngologist is under the obligation to emit reports about hearing damages due to illness or accidents, that generally will determine economic lendings or recongnition of discapacity. Method and Material.-In this study we revise the scales in force which refer to the valoration of the hearing damage, and illnesses that are causes of discapacity, permanent incapacity and in relation to economic lendings and indemnities they are subsidiary. Results.- We exposed the scales and established the necesity of unify the different point of view of valoration, and proposed a new table in order to valorate the hearing damage. Conclussions.- 1. It doesnt exist an uniform criterion. 2. The legislation es confuse and variable, it depends on the legislator. 3. The economic amounts are inssufficient. 4. The hearing damage table must be revised based on the actual audiometrics criterions, objetives and subjetives
Introducción.- El otorrinolaringólogo se ve obligado en ocasiones a emitir informes sobre la valoración del daño auditivo derivado de enfermedades o de accidentes cuyo fin generalmente va a condicionar unas prestaciones económicas o el reconocimiento de una minusvalía. Material y método.- En este trabajo se revisan los baremos referentes a la valoración del daño auditivo vigentes y de las enfermedades susceptibles de minusvalías, incapacidad permanente y las prestaciones económicas e indemnizaciones de las que son subsidiarias. Resultados.- Se exponen los baremos y sus tablas de clasificación e indemnizaciones. Se incluyen las solicitudes administrativas y sus exclusiones. Discusión.- Se comparan los baremos y se establece la necesidad de unificar los diferentes criterios de valoración y proponemos una nueva tabla para la valoración de la agudeza auditiva. Conclusiones.- 1. No existe un criterio uniforme. 2. La legislación es confusa y variable dependiendo del legislador. 3. Las cuantificaciones económicas son insuficientes. 4. La Tabla de Agudeza Auditiva debe ser revisada en base a los criterios actuales audiométricos objetivos y subjetivos
