Studies in History of Art have traditionally paid great attention to the role played by the route of pilgrimage to Santiago in the transmission of artistic exchanges during the Romanesque period, while ignoring its influence in the Gothic period. This paper deals with the reception in Castile of the new Gothic architectural solutions, which arrived through the Iter francorum and were put into practice in the greatest buildings of that time (Abbey of Las Huelgas, Burgos cathedral). It also deals with their subsequent spreading all along the Castilian territories, once again following partially the Way of St. James. The important and insufficiently studied churches of the Burgos region of Odra-Pisuerga which are the subject of this article constitute a perfect example of this reality
Los estudios de historia del arte han prestado tradicionalmente una gran atención al papel del Camino de Santiago como transmisor de corrientes artísticas durante el periodo románico. Por el contrario, la influencia de la ruta jacobea en época gótica ha sido mucho menos indagada. Este estudio trata la recepción en Castilla de las nuevas soluciones arquitectónicas góticas, llegadas a través del Iter francorum y materializadas en los grandes edificios del momento (Las Huelgas, catedral de Burgos); así como de su posterior difusión por el territorio castellano, en parte siguiendo de nuevo la ruta compostelana. Los grandes y poco estudiados templos de la comarca burgalesa de Odra-Pisuerga que son objeto de atención en este trabajo ejemplifican con claridad esta realidad
