Practically since the beginning of their membership of the EU, the United Kingdom (UK) is threatening with a potential Brexit, which so far has not been completed. Departure from this organisation would have direct effect on both sides, particularly of an economic and social nature, and would cause collateral damage difficult to predict at this stage. Because NATO remains the pillar of their national security, the United Kingdom efforts are directed towards this organisation. The Common Security and Defence Policy (CSDP) plays a secondary role for them, and in any case it is something complementary. This makes that the UK contributions to the CSDP are not at the height of its importance as a country both at European and international level
El Reino Unido viene amenazando, desde prácticamente el inicio de su pertenencia a la UE, con un posible Brexit, hecho que hasta ahora no ha consumado. Su salida de esta organización tendría impactos directos, sobre todo de carácter económico y social, en ambas partes y provocaría daños colaterales de difícil predicción en este momento. Para el Reino Unido, la OTAN sigue siendo el pilar de su seguridad nacional por lo que su esfuerzo principal, en cualquier orden, va dirigido hacia esta organización. La Política Común de Seguridad y Defensa (PCSD) viene jugando para ellos un papel secundario y, en cualquier caso, complementario. Esto hace que sus aportaciones a la PCSD no revistan la importancia que como país le corresponde tanto dentro de la propia organización como en el contexto internacional
