El presente trabajo se propone poner en relación una serie de cuentos escogidos del narrador cubano Virgilio Piñera con la novela Ferdydurke, cuya traducción Witold Gombrowicz quiso emprender -a partir del original polaco- durante los años de su estadía en tierras argentinas. La común labor de traducción en los salones de la confitería Rex consolida una relación intelectual que se manifiesta en aquellos cruces temáticos y formales que serán objeto de nuestro análisis. Se verá cómo el problema de la Forma, que Gombrowicz plantea abiertamente en su texto y que Piñera reelaborará a su manera, se articula alrededor de una doble vertiente, común a ambos narradores: por una parte, bajo la modalidad discursiva de una cruzada en favor del humor y en contra de los excesos de una escritura repleta de metáforas y adornos; por otra, bajo el aspecto de una censura hacia la falsa madurez exterior de los seres humanos. En relación con la postura religiosa, veremos cómo los personajes de Piñera se muestran solos ante el universo, obligados a valerse por sí mismos frente a una realidad en la que los dioses han muerto. Lo que nos queda es que el cuerpo y el culto de la carne sustituye al culto del espíritu. Del mismo modo, los personajes de Ferdydurke viven sin ideales, ni dioses, adaptando mitos inmaduros a la realidad íntima del hombre. Finalmente, en lo que se refiere al humor, se pondrá de relieve cómo los cuentos de Piñera se caracterizan por el choteo, el humor negro y el absurdo, que toman los rasgos de elementos "cruentos" disfrazados. Se analizarán, en particular,los relatos "La carne" y "El Gran Baro", puestos en relación con Ferdydurke, donde se demostrará la existencia de un humor de matiz más surreal, vinculado con la búsqueda de la Inmadurez y construido sobre lo grotesco
The aim of our essay is to put in relation several short stories of the Cuban narrator Virgilio Piñera and the novel Ferdydurke, which was translated by Witold Gombrowicz -starting from the original in Polish- during the years of his stay in Argentina. The common labor of translation in the lounges of the Rex restaurant consolidates an intellectual relation that is evident in the thematic units analyzed in this work. We will see how the problem of the Form (which Gombrowicz raises openly in his text and which Piñera will reelaborate in his way), is structured in a double slope, common to both narrators: on one hand, the Cuban writer creates a discursive modality based on a crusade that celebrates the sense of humor in opposition to the excesses of a writing replete with metaphors and adornments; on the other hand, the Polish writer elaborates a censorship towards the false exterior maturity of the human beings. In relation with the religious position, the fictional figures of Piñera are human beings alone in the universe, obliged to resist the reality in which the gods have died. What they still have is only their body so the adoration of the spirit is substituted by the adoration of the meat. In the same way, the characters of Ferdydurke live without ideal, nor gods, adapting immature myths to intimate reality of the man. Finally, regarding the humor, we will emphasize how Piñera's stories are characterized by the choteo, and a sort of black, absurd humor, which makes the features of "bloody" disguised elements. We will analyze, especially, the tales "La carne" and "Il gran baro", and we will put both stories in relation with Ferdydurke, where we can see a more surreal humor, linked with the search of the Immaturity and constructed in a grotesque shape
