The objective of this paper is to offer an analysis of the morphology of the kind of idiomatic words that we call "phraseological fossils". To do this, we will first define the concepts "idiomatic word" and "phraseological fossil", and then we clarify the methodological procedures for compiling this kind of words in a general dictionary such as the DLE. Next we proceed to the analysis of the corpus obtained. The main feature of phraseological fossils is that they present the evolutionary changes characteristic of the evolution from Latin to Spanish, because they are inherited words
En el presente trabajo pretendemos ofrecer un análisis de la configuración formal del tipo de palabras idiomáticas que denominamos "fósiles fraseológicos". Para ello, tras delimitar los conceptos de "palabra idiomática" y "fósil fraseológico", se aclaran los procedimientos metodológicos para recopilar este tipo de voces en un diccionario general actual como el DLE, y se procede al análisis del corpus obtenido.
