Acceso a la educación super...
Education is a human right under the National Constitution. It is also relevant to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals. In both cases, its importance lies in the fact that through it, equitable, inclusive and sustainable societies will be achieved. However, despite the existing regulations, the realities between countries and communities within each country vary. In the case of Paraguay, access to higher education for young people living in indigenous communities follows a trend totally contrary to the democratization of access to higher education and the enrollment and graduation trends it presents. Through interviews with young people and older adults from the Maká community of Encarnación, we inquired about the obstacles to access to Higher Education and their worldview. The results show that access to higher education is limited by economic and discriminatory issues, despite their vision of importance and motivation to study and improve their living conditions
La educación es un derecho humano contemplado en la Constitución nacional. También es relevante para alcanzar los objetivos de desarrollo sostenible. En ambos casos, su importancia radica en que por medio de esta se lograrán sociedades equitativas, inclusivas y sostenibles. Sin embargo, a pesar de las normativas existentes, las realidades entre países y comunidades dentro de cada país son variadas. En el caso de Paraguay, el acceso a la educación superior de jóvenes residentes en comunidades indígenas sigue una tendencia totalmente contraria a la democratización en el acceso a la educación superior y las tendencias de matrícula y egreso que este presenta. Por medio de entrevistas a jóvenes y adultos mayores de la comunidad maká de Encarnación, se indagó sobre los obstáculos en el acceso a la educación superior y la cosmovisión. Los resultados dan cuenta de que el acceso a la educación superior está limitado por cuestiones económicas y discriminatorias, a pesar de la visión de importancia y la motivación que tienen para estudiar y mejorar sus condiciones de vida
