In Venezuela, from the presidency of Hugo Chávez Frías to that of Nicolás Maduro Moros, due to various circumstances, the opposition has been summoned numerous times to dialogue and negotiation. The penultimate time was on August 2021. The goal of our research is to compare the differences between the conception of dialogue as understood by the Government and by the opposition. However, it was imperative to first review speeches and statements made by Chávez Frías and Maduro Moros in order to verify whether there was continuity in the discursive formation on this subject. Methodologically, the research is guided by the contextual hermeneutic approach (Adrián, 2022), which analyzes political discourse as a social practice based on a process of situated analysis. The corpus contains the prefatory remarks by Jorge Rodríguez (2021), representing Nicolás Maduro, and Gerardo Blyde (2021), representing the opposition, during the meeting held in Mexico City on August 13, 2021. As a conclusion, we can highlight the fact that, although formally both speakers resort to similar rhetorical and argumentative strategies, the content of the speeches reveals profound differences regarding the motivations for dialogue and the need to reach an agreement
En Venezuela, desde la Presidencia de Hugo Chávez Frías hasta la de Nicolás Maduro Moros, por diversas circunstancias, la oposición ha sido convocada numerosas veces al diálogo y la negociación. La penúltima vez fue en agosto de 2021. En esta investigación, nos hemos trazado como objetivo comparar las diferencias entre la concepción del diálogo que tienen el oficialismo y la oposición. No obstante, un paso previo, imprescindible, consistió en revisar alocuciones y declaraciones de Chávez Frías y de Maduro Moros a fin de constatar si hay continuidad en la formación discursiva que remite al tema. Metodológicamente, la investigación se orienta por el enfoque hermenéutico-contextual (Adrián, 2022), que analiza el discurso político como práctica social apoyándose en un proceso de interpretación situada. El corpus está conformado por dos textos: las palabras liminares de Jorge Rodríguez (2021), representante de Nicolás Maduro, y las de Gerardo Blyde (2021), representante de la oposición, durante el encuentro sostenido en Ciudad de México el 13 de agosto de 2021. Entre las conclusiones destaca el hecho de que, si bien en el plano formal ambos enunciadores recurren a estrategias retórico argumentativas similares, el contenido revela profundas diferencias acerca de las motivaciones para dialogar y la necesidad de llegar a acuerdos
