This article highlights the significant contributions of the Escuela Tecnológica Instituto Técnico Central (ET.ITC) in shaping the current system of higher education, especially concerning technical education, technology and engineering cycles, which was conceptualized Act 749 in 2002. The School of Technology presented the paper "Future desirable for technical education and technology" at the Second National Congress of Higher Education of Colombia, which took place in the cities of Armenia and Pereira, in December 2002, which is reproduced in this article and was a prominent reference document for discussions that gave rise to the bill that ended with the enactment of the law that governs today referred to technical education, technology and engineering cycles
El presente artículo, resalta los aportes significativos de la Escuela Tecnológica Instituto Técnico Central ( ET ITC) a la configuración del sistema actual de Educación Superior, especialmente en lo concerniente a la educación técnica, tecnológica y de ingeniería por ciclos; el cual se concretó en la ley 749 del 2002. La Escuela Tecnológica presentó la ponencia " Futuro deseable para la educación técnica y tecnológica" en el II Congreso Nacional de Educación Superior de Colombia, que se realizó en las ciudades de Armenia y Pereira, en diciembre de 2002, el cual se reproduce en éste artículo y constituyó un documento de referencia destacado para los debates que dieron origen al proyecto de ley que concluyó con la promulgación de la ley mencionada que rige hoy a la educación técnica, tecnológica y de ingeniería por ciclos
