The family as a legal unit is of the utmost importance and requires legal protection as time progresses. As- sisted human reproduction techniques, marriage and homoparental adoption, among other factors, have been changing the paradigm of the bilateral filiative bond of both motherhood and fatherhood as it is known, is all give rise to plural filiation ties, known as family multiparentality. It is imperative and, at the same time, a challenge for the Chilean legislation to determine the consequences that will derive from these new links in attention to the obligations that are born for the members of the family and that make up the family statute, that is why, in this work, it will address the recognition that has been given to these forms of affiliation in different legislations; how these realities combine with the safeguarding and protection of the rights of children and adolescents and the place that they will have in Chilean legislation, always safe- guarding the best interests of children and adolescents and their right to identity
RESUMENLa familia como unidad jurídica reviste la máxima importancia y requiere de protección legal conforme el avance de los tiempos. Las técnicas de reproducción humana asistida, el matrimonio y la adopción homo- parental, entre otros factores, han ido cambiando el paradigma del vínculo filiativo bilateral tanto de la maternidad como paternidad de la forma en que se conoce, esto da lugar a los vínculos de filiación plurales, conocidos como multiparentalidad familiar. Resulta imperativo y a la vez, un desafío para la legislación chilena determinar las consecuencias que derivarán de estos nuevos vínculos en atención a las obligaciones que nacen para los miembros de la familia y que conforman el estatuto familiar, es por ello, que en este trabajo se abordará el reconocimiento que se les ha dado a estas formas de filiación en distintas legislacio- nes; cómo conjugan estas realidades con el resguardo y protección de los derechos de los niños, niñas y adolescentes y la cabida que tendrá en la legislación chilena siempre en resguardo del interés superior del niño, niña y adolescente y su derecho a la identidad
