This article establishes the formation of parishes between the second half of the Eighteenth century and the early decades of the Nineteenth century in the region of Jujuy. Among the elements considered by this historical research are: the socioeconomic structure of the colonial frontier of the Chaco in Jujuy, the formation of parishes, the position of priests and missionaries faced with the situation of the indigenous issue and they relationship with landowners.The sources used are inventories of landowners wills, court records on the parish priests of San Ignacio reduction, good governance sides of the border, and correspondence from authorities, landowners and stewards

Este artículo establece el proceso de formación de los curatos entre la segunda mitad del siglo XVIII y las primeras décadas del siglo XIX en la zona de Jujuy. Dentro de los elementos analizados por este estudio histórico se encuentran: la estructura socioeconómica de la frontera colonial del Chaco en Jujuy, la conformación de los curatos, la posición de curas y doctrineros frente a la situación de los indígenas respecto y su relación con los hacendados.Las fuentes utilizadas son inventarios de bienes y testamentos de hacendados, expedientes judiciales sobre los doctrineros de la reducción de San Ignacio, bandos de buen gobierno de la frontera, y la correspondencia de autoridades, hacendados y mayordomos
