The present study analyses the monastic policy of Elionor of Sicily (1349-1375) who is regarded as an especially pious personality. Her name is especially associated with the foundation of Santa Clara (Catalina) in Teruel, the reconstruction of Santa Clara in Calatayud, and the financial reorganization of Santa María in Sigena. With the exception of Teruel, these have not been studied yet in any detail. A systematic analysis of the queen's religious donations will be made, providing original information found in the queen's treasurer's ledgers and her chancellery registers. Elionor's monastic endeavours are confirmed to have been centered geographically in the Kingdom of Aragon. Additionally, Elionor is seen to have implemented the memoria of her paternal family, that is, the Sicilian branch of the House of Barcelona, with a political intention
El presente estudio pretende analizar la política monástica de Leonor de Sicilia (1349-1375), de la que se dice haber sido muy piadosa. Su nombre está vinculado sobre todo con la fundación del convento de Santa Clara (Catalina) de Teruel, la reconstrucción de Santa Clara de Calatayud y la reorganización de Santa Maria di Sigena. Aparte de Teruel, ninguno de estos casos ha sido estudiado en detalle hasta el momento. Este artículo analizará sistemáticamente las donaciones religiosas de la reina aportando datos originales. La base documental consiste especialmente en los libros de cuentas del tesorero de la reina y, también, los registros procedentes de la cancillería de Leonor de Sicilia. De hecho, se puede constatar un enfoque geográfico de la promoción monástica reginal sobre el reino de Aragón. Por otra parte, se impuso especialmente la memoria regia de la casa paternal de Leonor, es decir la rama siciliana de la Casa de Barcelona, con una finalidad política
