ETA es, a la vez, vanguardia y componente de un movimiento más amplio que, en razón del momento en que surge, recibe el nombre del Movimiento Vasco de Liberación Nacional (MVLN). ETA, en dos fases de su historia de cincuenta años decide, unilateralmente, el uso de la violencia, bajo las formas de terrorismo, intimidación, secuestro y extorsión. Dentro del MVLV la clase obrera en particular y el eufemístico Pueblo Trabajador Vasco más en general, así como la juventud, conforman dos elementos centrales de su particular ideología. En este trabajo pretendemos, en un primer momento, estudiar hasta qué punto la juventud vasca ha apoyado los propósitos de ETA. En segundo lugar ofreceremos las motivaciones dadas desde el interior del MVLN y por los propios miembros de ETA para justificar su violencia terrorista, cerrando el texto con una interpretación parcial nuestra del surgimiento del MVLN, como religión sustitutiva, consecuencia de un cambio en el "objeto de culto" de un Dios veterotestamentario a una Euskadi como totalidad
ETA is at the same time vanguard and component of a larger movement that, due to the moment in which it arose, receives the name of Movimiento Vasco de Liberación Nacional (MVLN). ETA, in two phases of its 50-year history decides, unilaterally, the use of violence under the forms of terrorism, intimidation, kidnapping and extortion. Inside the MVLN, the working class in particular and the euphemistic Pueblo Trabajador Vasco more in general, as well as the youth, conform two central elements of their particular ideology. In this work we pretend, first of all, to study the extent to which the Basque youth has supported the purposes of ETA. Secondly, we will offer the motivations given from insiders of the MVLN and motivations given by the members of ETA themselves to justify their terrorist violence. We close the text with our partial interpretation of the emergence of the MVLN as a substitutive religion, consequence of a change in the "object of cult" from an Old Testament God to a Eukadi as a totality
