"Meresce la pena ordinaria de muerte": estudio de las denuncias por bestialismo en la Navarra del Antiguo Régimen

El bestialismo fue una de las prácticas sexuales más duramente perseguidas durante el Antiguo Régimen por las autoridades civiles y eclesiásticas. Este delito nos ha dejado en Navarra ricos testimonios en forma de procesos judiciales que fueron dirimidos ante los Tribunales Reales. Gracias a esta documentación podremos conocer no sólo la intrahistoria de este tipo de comportamientos y su represión jurídica, sino también la concepción social y cultural de dichos hábitos en la sociedad de la época.

Bestiality was one of the hardest sexual practices pursued during the Old Regime by the civil and ecclesiastical authorities. This crime has left us in Navarre rich testimonies as legal proceedings were settled before the Royal Courts. With this documentation we know not only the inside story of this kind of behavior and legal repression but also social and cultural conception of such habits in the society of the time.
