The "que si" Spanish marker is examined in this preliminary study. The analysis was obtained from eighty-three occurrences found in the Sociolinguistic Corpus of Mérida (Corpus Sociolingüístico de Mérida-CSM). The marker is used orally for enumerative purposes to specify and keep textual reference. The study of this marker is important because it helps to describe oral variations from Spanish, especially from the Spanish variety of Mérida region in Venezuela. The analysis focuses on the relation of this marker with textual referents. Likewise, it considers standard taxonomies of discourse markers. Further research on this discourse marker is required for better description

En este trabajo se examina la forma que si en una muestra de 83 ocurrencias extraídas del Corpus Sociolingüístico de Mérida (CSM) y se evidencia su funcionamiento como marcador enumerativo que sirve al hablante para la estrategia de especificación en la presentación y mantenimiento de la referencia textual. El estudio de este marcador reviste importancia como aporte a las descripciones de las modalidades orales de la lengua española y, particularmente del habla oral merideña. El análisis se focalizó en el empleo de esta forma en relación con el referente textual y tomó en cuenta tipologías establecidas en los estudios sobre marcadores discursivos. Se considera una aproximación al tema, susceptible de una indagación más amplia
