Since ancient times and for a long time, citizenship has been linked to belonging to a nation-state, limiting its implication in current human dynamics; however, the multiple economic, political, environmental and social problems, the great mobilizations of people and the processes of globalization that humanity is ex-periencing today, make it necessary to contemplate a new perspective of citizenship. A citizenship that is planetary, that allows both recognition and acceptance of differences, that enables coexistence and dialogue of diversity; for which training processes are required from a global and intercultural perspective, which open the doors to inclusion, enriching interaction of singularities, as well as the strengthening of the social fabric. With this research, which is assumed from the socio-critical paradigm of the qualitative approach, whose main objective was aimed at re-signifying citizenship training from the collective construction of an educational proposal located and contextualized in the school oriented to the achievement of planetary citizenship in students, it was achieved with the implementation of techniques and instruments of the Educational Action Research, to collect information, This allowed us to determine, among the main findings, that the educational institution does not assume the leadership that is inherent in the processes of citizenship and social transformation, having little impact on the development of any type of citizenship, in the same way it was found that teachers present deficiencies regarding citizenship training, which leads to the fact that they are not able to implement pedagogical practices that favor the structuring of a citizenship awareness on the part of the students. Desde la Antigüedad y durante mucho tiempo la ciudadanía ha estado ligada a la pertenencia a un Estado-nación limitando su implicancia en las diná-micas humanas actuales; no obstante, las múltiples pro-blemáticas económicas, políticas, ambientales, sociales, las grandes movilizaciones de personas y los procesos de globalización que vivencia la humanidad hoy día, obligan a contemplar una nueva perspectiva de esta. Una ciudadanía que sea planetaria, que permita tanto el reconocimiento como la aceptación de las diferencias, que posibilite la coexistencia y el diálogo de la diversidad; para lo cual se requieren procesos de formación desde una perspectiva global e intercultural, que abran las puertas a la inclusión, la interacción enriquecedora de singularidades, así como el fortalecimiento del tejido social. Con esta investigación la cual se asume desde el paradigma socio-crítico del enfoque cualitativo, cuyo principal objetivo se encaminó a resignificar la formación ciudadana desde la construcción colectiva de una propuesta educativa situada y contextualizada en la escuela orientada al logro de ciudadanía planetaria en los estudiantes, se logró con la implementación de técnicas e instrumentos propios de la Investigación Acción Educativa, recolectar información, que permitió determinar dentro de los principales hallazgos, que la institución educativa no asume el liderazgo que le es inherente en los procesos de ciudadanización y transformación social, teniendo poco impacto en el desarrollo de cualquier tipo de ciudadanía, de igual forma se encontró que los docentes presentan falencias respecto a la formación ciudadana lo que conlleva que no sean capaces de implementar prácticas pedagógicas que favorezcan la estructuración de una conciencia ciudadana por parte de los estudiantes.
