The state of the art about the archaeological remains and sites ascribed to the Roman and "Castreña" Era, included in the geographic area between the Estaca de Bares cape and the estuary of Ribadeo, in the western part of the Cantabrian Sea, is presented. In this area there are numerous sites attached to this temporary space, among which we can highlight about fifty hill-forts, a dozen open settlements, commonly referred as villae, as well as some gold mines, a few craft facilities, and various findings without a definite archeological context. The historiographic study is completed with the analysis of a series of archaeological remains that has been carried out in the Museum of Prehistory and Archeology of Vilalba
Se presenta el estado de la cuestión sobre los yacimientos y restos arqueológicos adscritos a la época romana y castrexa, englobados en el área geográfica comprendida entre la Punta de Estaca de Bares y la Ría de Ribadeo, en el sector occidental del Mar Cantábrico. En esta zona se conocen numerosos yacimientos adscritos a este espacio temporal, entre los que podemos destacar media centena de castros, una decena de asentamientos abiertos -comúnmente denominados villae-, así como algunas explotaciones auríferas, unas pocas instalaciones artesanales, y diversos hallazgos sin contexto arqueológico definido. El estudio historiográfico se completa con el análisis de una serie de materiales arqueológicos que se ha llevado a cabo en el Museo de Prehistoria e Arqueoloxía de Vilalba
