Questions related to the lack access of water and sanitation are important in Brazil. The 2016 Brotherhood Campaign concerns basic sanitary service. Its theme is: "Common home, our responsibility"" and encourages the community to convert and change its lifestyle. We can't ignore that technology is changing our lives, some forms of scientific innovations have modified our lives entirely. But, on the other hand, our activities have modified almost every part of our environment. This paper aims to identify, interpret, and summarise the literature currently available on the integrated solid waste management based in the Brazilian Solid Waste Policy. A retrospective review was undertaken through the three spheres participation in sanitation policies: government, business and population. It was concluded that today in Brazil the integrated solid waste actions occur in an isolated way
A questão ligada às interfaces entre os problemas sociais e ambientais relativos à ausência de saneamento básico é de tal importância, que o tema saneamento básico está contido no texto base da Campanha da Fraternidade do ano de 2016. Se por um lado, não se pode desprezar a evolução da produção de bens para o progresso do homem. Por outro lado, difícil se encontrar uma fronteira tangível, que indique excesso na aquisição de bens que promovem o conforto e o bem estar das famílias. O tema deste trabalho, a gestão integrada, faz parte de um esforço para a conquista de espaço, entendimento e difusão desta diretriz contida na Política Nacional de Resíduos Sólidos. A metodologia utilizada é exploratória e bibliográfica. Os resultados indicam que a produção de conhecimento e de implementação desta diretriz ainda ocorre de forma muito isolada e fragmentada, sem apreciar a responsabilização de todos os atores envolvidos
