The purpose of this research is to analyze the supply and demand in higher education programs in Neiva, Huila, using fundamental theoretical supports such as human capital theory, economic theory (supply and demand), and organizational theories. These interact and form a context of great interest for the development of the educational system, incorporating educational theories such as constructivism (Piaget, Vygotsky, and Ausubel) and connectivism (Siemens and Downes, 2005), where social networks play a role in the educational system. Regarding methodological aspects, the study considered the development of mixed-type research (qualitative-quantitative) with a descriptive approach, using techniques favorable for theoretical support, such as content review and analysis, and instruments like surveys and interviews, which were designed through a questionnaire that facilitated the obtaining of results. The population consisted of 396 students from different educational institutions in the city of Neiva, from which a sample of 111 students was obtained. The questionnaire was applied, and responding to the filter question, only 94 accepted participation in the research process. The results achieved favored the academic trend, allowing the Navarra University Foundation in the city of Neiva to implement a flexible curriculum capable of meeting the demands of the student market in Neiva, Huila
El propósito de la presente investigación se centra en analizar la oferta y demanda en programas de educación superior en Neiva, Huila, tomando como soportes teóricos fundamentales, teoría del capital humano, teoría económica (oferta y demanda), teorías organizacionales, las cuales interactúan y forman todo un contexto de amplio interés para el desarrollo del sistema educativo, en la que se adhieren teorías de la educación como la construccionista (Piaget, Vigotsky y Ausubel), y la de conectividad (Siemens y Downes, 2005), en la cual las redes sociales hacen su papel en el sistema educativo. En lo que respecta los aspectos metodológicos, se tuvo en cuenta el desarrollo de una investigación en el tipo mixto (cualitativo - cuantitativo), con enfoque descriptivo, en uso de técnicas favorables para el soporte teórico como la revisión de contenidos, el análisis de los mismos y el uso de instrumentos como la encuesta, la entrevista, los cuales fueron diseñados a través de un cuestionario que favoreció la obtención de resultados. La población la constituyeron 396 estudiantes de las distintas instituciones educativas de la ciudad de Neiva, de las cuales se obtuvo una muestra de 111 estudiantes, a los que se aplicó el cuestionario y respondiendo a la pregunta filtro, tan solo 94 aceptaron la participación en el proceso investigativo. Los resultados alcanzados favorecieron la tendencia académica, por lo que la Fundación Universitaria Navarra de la ciudad de Neiva puede implementar con un contenido curricular flexible, capaz de conquistar un mercado tan exigente como el estudiantil en la ciudad de Neiva, Huila.
