The development of mathematical competencies in preservice teachers is especially important because firs of all, they must master the mathematical contents, which they will later teach their future students. However, their attitudes towards the subject will influence their teaching practice. For this reason, there is quite interest to inquire about affective aspects of students who intend to carry out the teaching work, especially, because of the impact they will have on their future students. Concretely in this paper the attitudes, and in particular the anxiety towards mathematics of future Normalistas Superiores from the north of Tolima in Colombia are analysed, since these will be educators at the elementary education, and among their obligations, will be to guide their students in the subject of mathematics. This descriptive-exploratory study analyses the evaluations given by 83 high school students belonging to two of the Normales Superiores of the department of Tolima. To collect the information used a Likert (Auzmendi, 1992) scale type, designed and validated in high school students to measure attitudes towards mathematics, was found that, contrary to the trend in previous studies of showing greater anxiety in women than in men, in the Normal Superior of Villahermosa, men present higher levels
El desarrollo de competencias matemáticas en futuros docentes reviste especial importancia, puesto que, deben dominar los contenidos matemáticos, que enseñarán a su futuro alumnado, adicionalmente, sus actitudes hacia la materia influirán en su ejercicio docente. Por ello, resulta de gran interés indagar sobre aspectos afectivos de estudiantes que tienen la intención de ejercer la labor docente, especialmente, por el impacto que tendrán en su futuro alumnado. Concretamente, en este trabajo se analizan las componentes de la actitud, especialmente la ansiedad hacia las matemáticas de futuros Normalistas Superiores del norte del Tolima en Colombia, pues estos, serán formadores en el nivel de educación primaria, y entre sus obligaciones, estará, guiar a su alumnado en la asignatura. Este estudio de tipo descriptivo-exploratorio analiza las valoraciones dadas por 83 estudiantes de educación media pertenecientes a dos de las Normales Superiores del departamento del Tolima. Para recoger la información se utilizó una escala tipo Likert diseñada (Auzmendi, 1992) y validada en estudiantes de secundaria para medir actitudes hacia las matemáticas. Se halló que, contrario a la tendencia en estudios previos de evidenciar mayor ansiedad en mujeres que en hombres, en la Normal superior de Villahermosa, los hombres presentan mayores niveles de ansiedad
