The use of didactic material could be an important help to include students with special educational needs in Physical Education mainstream classes. The aim of this paper is to know the opinions regarding the use of recycled material with the aim of attending the diversity in Physical Education of a group of 145 pre-service Early-childhood and Primary-Education teachers. First, a scale was built for this purpose, which obtained adequate reliability and validity results. Second, the results were compared according to gender and grade, without obtaining significant differences. Lastly, a group of 26 pre-service teachers participated in an experience of construction-recycled material and its implementation with a group of people with intellectual impairments. Participants significantly improved their opinions after the intervention. It is concluded that the instrument were valid and reliable for the evaluation of opinions towards the use of recycled material for the attention of students with disabilities in Physical Education and that the construction and use of the material improve this opinion in pre-service teachers
La utilización de material didáctico puede suponer una ayuda importante a la hora de incluir al alumnado con necesidades educativas especiales en las clases de Educación Física. El objetivo del presente trabajo es conocer las opiniones respecto a la utilización del material reciclado con el objetivo de atender a la diversidad en Educación Física de un grupo de 145 futuros maestros de Infantil y Primaria. En primer lugar, se construyó una escala a tal efecto, que obtuvo resultados de fiabilidad y validez adecuados. En segundo lugar, los resultados se compararon en función del género y el grado, sin obtener diferencias significativas. En último lugar, un grupo de 26 futuros maestros participaron en una experiencia de construcción de material y puesta en práctica junto a un grupo de personas con discapacidad intelectual. Los participantes mejoraron significativamente sus opiniones después de la intervención. Se concluye que el instrumento es válido y fiable para la evaluación de las opiniones hacia la utilización del material reciclado para la atención al alumnado con discapacidad en Educación Física y que la construcción y utilización del material construido puede mejorar dicha opinión en futuros maestros
