The central objective of this essay is to explore the representationof childhood in Caramelo or Puro Cuento (2002) by Sandra Cisneros. From asubaltern perspective Ceyala Reyes tells the story of three generations, whichis intertextually and lucidly interspersed with paratexts and fragments ofpopular songs by means of an unfinished and familiar rebozo caramelo. This fabric functions as a textile artefact of writing, memories and expresses itselfin a metaphorical and metonymical manner just as a fabric woven by abordering voice decentralized by the knowledge of otherness: in and fromthe popular, between both hybrid worlds, between here and there, betweenthe adult, the feminine and the infant-adolescent word
Este ensayo tiene como objeto central explorar la representación de la infancia en relación a la escritura en Caramelo o Puro cuento (2002) de Sandra Cisneros. Desde una perspectiva subalterna Ceyala Reyes narra la historia de tres generaciones intercaladas, lúdica e intertextualmente con paratextos y fragmentos de canciones populares a través de un inconcluso rebozo caramelo familiar. Esta tela funciona como un artefacto textil de escritura, memoria y se articula de forma metafórica y metonímica como la tela tejida por una voz fronteriza descentrada por los saberes de la otredad: en y desde lo popular, entre ambos mundos híbridos, entre el aquí y el allá, entre el mundo adulto, el femenino y el del infante-adolescente.
