The human body must live in balance. One of the discussions carried out within the medical field is physical appearance and its fine line between health and vanity. The constant control of the height-weight ratio of the human being is the main indication of the health of the living being, as the years of life accumulate, this control is neglected, becoming a multifocal health problem known as obesity. When there is a drastic reduction in weight, it leaves physical sequelae such as excess skin, for which the discipline of reconstructive plastic surgery offers different solutions. As described in the literature, bariat-ric surgery meets, in most cases, the objective in terms of considerable weight reduction that allows the reduction of mortal-ity associated with obesity, however, it has also been shown that the surgical solution not only focuses on bariatric interven-tion, but has developed a subsequent support protocol that ensures long-term success, such as nutritional, psychological and aesthetic support for the patient. A bibliographic review is carried out to propose the general ideas that allow knowing the process of abdominoplasty after bariatric surgery based on the academic publications available in certified digital spaces. The surgical process of reconstruction of the body silhouette after bariatric surgery could be seen as a merely aesthetic need, however, it is shown that this process is a fundamental part of the weight control guarantees of bariatric surgery itself, since the patient's own perception, whoever perceives himself as amorphous can generate a disagreement with the result of the entire procedure and considering the solution to obesity as a generation to a new problem, completely abandoning any effort necessary for the proposed success. Post bariatric abdominoplasty is not a minimal operation. It should be considered that the tissues to be removed are important, and it is also usually combined with other procedures such as liposuction and masto
El cuerpo humano debe vivir en equilibrio. Una de las discusiones llevadas a cabo dentro del campo médico es la apariencia física y su delgada línea entre la alud y la vanidad. El control constante de la relación talla-peso del ser humano es el principal indicio de salud del ser vivo, a medida que los años de vida se acumulan, se descuida dicho control llegando a convertirse en un problema de salud multifocal conocido obesidad. Cuando existe una reducción drástica de peso, va dejando secuelas físicas como los excesos de piel para lo cual, la disciplina de la cirugía plástica reconstructiva ofrece distintas soluciones. Como describe la literatura, la cirugía bariátrica cumple, en la mayoría de los casos, el objetivo en cuanto a la reducción considerable de peso que permite la reducción de mortalidad asociada la obesidad, sin embargo, también se ha demostrado que la solución quirúrgica no sólo se centra en la intervención bariátrica, sino que se ha desarrollado un protocolo de apoyo posterior que aseguran el éxito a largo plazo como es el apoyo nutricional, psicológico y estético del paciente. Se realiza una revisión bibliográfica que proponer las ideas generales que permiten conocer el proceso de la abdominoplastia posterior a la cirugía bariátrica basados en las publicaciones académicas disponibles en los espacios digitales certificados. El proceso quirúrgico de reconstrucción de la silueta corporal post cirugía bariátrica pudiera verse como una necesidad meramente estética, sin embargo, se demuestra que este proceso forma parte fundamental en las garantías de control de peso de la misma cirugía bariátrica pues la percepción propia del paciente, quien se percibe a sí mismo como amorfa puede generar una disconformidad con el resultado a todo el procedimiento y considerando la solución a la obesidad como una generación a un nuevo problema abandonando por completo cualquier esfuerzo necesario para el éxito planteado.
