Los Acuerdos Comerciales Regionales en América Latina buscan liberalizar el comercio entre regiones, el ingreso a nuevos mercados, y el dinamismo de las economías. Sin embargo, la gran incógnita planteada es si la firma de estos acuerdos es beneficiosa para consumidores, trabajadores y empresas. El objetivo del presente estudio es analizar los flujos comerciales resultantes de la aplicación de acuerdos comerciales regionales de América Latina y la cobertura de las disposiciones de estos acuerdos. Se utilizan bases de datos de la OMC, el UNCTAD y el BID. El estudio permite vislumbrar que no solamente los ACR están centrados en materia arancelaria, sino que buscan interponer un marco legal que permitan prácticas equitativas en materia de competencia justa, propiedad intelectual, inversiones, simplificación de procesos y armonía entre las administraciones aduaneras
The Regional Trade Agreements in Latin America seek to liberalize trading between regions, the entry to new markets, and the dynamism of the economies. Nonetheless, the great question set is whether the signing of these agreements is beneficial for consumers, workers and companies. The objective of the present study is to analyze the resulting trade flows of the application of these Latin America regional trade agreements and the coverage of these agreements' disposals. Databases of the WTO, UNCTAD and the IDB are used. The study allows to glimpse that the RTAs are not only focused on tariff matters but seek to interpose a legal framework that permits fair practices in terms of fair competition, intellectual property, investments, simplification of processes and harmony between customs administrations
