If you try the study of the Cuban artistic culture from a theoretical perspective we only have the models and theoretical systems born in Europe and the United States of America. Also face the Latin-American art historians a great number of methodological, historical and theoretical limitations. So this article pretends a possible identification of these aspects when it's time to analyze the cultural Cuban thought from the first fifty years of the 20th Century by the work of authors as Fernando Ortiz, Jorge Mañach, Juan Marinello, Alejo Carpentier and José Lezama
Si se intenta el estudio de la cultura artística cubana desde una perspectiva teórica solo contamos con los modelos y sistemas teóricos nacidos en Europa y Estados Unidos. También enfrentan los historiadores del arte latinoamericanos numerosas limitaciones metodológicas, históricas, y teóricas. De ahí que este artículo se proponga presentar una posible identificación de los mismos a la hora de estudiar el pensamiento cultural cubano en la primera mitad del siglo XX desde la obra de autores como Fernando Ortiz, Jorge Mañach, Juan Marinello, Alejo Carpentier y José Lezama
