Throughout its long history, the lexicon of the language is one of the linguistic aspects which has received less attention in the teaching of a second language. This research is part of a larger project aimed at finding out the size of the receptive vocabulary of two groups students from 6th grade in the two foreign languages (English and French) in order to contrast the possible differences that may exist between the CLIL and non-CLIL groups. For this, the X_Lex test (Milton and Meara, 2003) is used. The results indicate that the CLIL students have a larger receptive vocabulary in the language taught than their non CLIL counterparts
A lo largo de su dilatada historia, el léxico es uno de los aspectos lingüísticos que ha recibido menos atención en la enseñanza de una segunda lengua. Esta investigación forma parte de otro proyecto más amplio cuya finalidad es averiguar el tamaño de vocabulario receptivo de dos grupos de alumnos de 6º de Primaria, en las dos lenguas extranjeras (Inglés y Francés) para contrastar las posibles diferencias que puedan existir entre el grupo perteneciente a la sección bilingüe y el no bilingüe. Para ello, empleamos el test X_Lex (Milton y Meara, 2003). Los resultados indican que los alumnos del grupo bilingüe tienen mayor tamaño de vocabulario receptivo en la lengua que cursan dicha sección, que los del grupo no bilingüe
