The Indigenous Reduction Massacre of Napalpí (National Territory of Chaco, Argentina, 1924) is the most significative event of violence by Argentina's State against indigenous pupulations in the 20th century. Although the historiography had referred to the absence of images of the massacre, more than a decade ago we found photographs attributed to the German anthropologist Robert Lehmann Nitsche in the context of those acts of violence. In this text we return to that corpus and the work undertaken in/with indigenous communities, to analyze the role of images as a trace, testimony and evidence. This will allow us to examine the category of "perpetrator" and the displacement of roles in the narratives built on the massacre. The images are analyzed both from production, circulation and reception, as well as in relation to my role as a researcher in dialogic relations and collaborative work with indigenous communities. For this reason, the text also refers to methodological issues in the use of images
La masacre de la reducción indígena de Napalpí (Territorio Nacional del Chaco, Argentina, 1924) es uno de los eventos violentos más significativos en el accionar del Estado argentino sobre poblaciones indígenas durante el siglo XX. Si bien la historiografía había referido a la ausencia de imágenes de la masacre, hace más de una década hallamos fotografías obtenidas por el antropólogo alemán Robert Lehmann Nitsche en el contexto de los hechos de violencia. En este texto retomamos ese corpus y los trabajos realizados en/con las comunidades indígenas analizando el rol de las imágenes como huella, testimonio y prueba. Ello nos permite discutir la categoría de "perpetrador" y los desplazamientos de roles en las narrativas construidas sobre la masacre. Las imágenes son analizadas tanto desde la producción, circulación y recepción, como en relación a mi rol de investigadora en las relaciones dialógicas y los trabajos colaborativos con las comunidades indígenas. Por ello también el texto alude a cuestiones metodológicas en el uso de las imágenes
