This paper brings the outcome of an ethno-musicology research about the violins musical practice among the afro communities in "Valle interandino del Cauca" located between the west and the east ranges, extended long to the north of the department of Cauca (Colombia). This paper explores not only how this activity of "playing" violin among the Caucas afro communities has been back grounded by a two centuries historical tradition through the inner Andean Valley, an ancient plucked strings musical region, but also how around and instrument like violin, these communities have kept an economical, political and a territorial live experience tied in a crossbreeding with Popayán (capital of Cauca), a colonial slavery society which theyve had struggled against
El artículo presenta resultados de un trabajo investigativo etnomusicológico de la práctica musical y cultural del violín en las comunidades afro del Valle Interandino del Cauca, el cual se ubica en la cuenca de las tierras que se forman entre las cordilleras occidental y la central , parte territorial que se extiende por el centro del Departamento de sur a norte. Se deriva de un trabajo pionero que he venido realizando desde hace varios años. El texto argumenta cómo la práctica de "tocar" el violín en las comunidades afros en el Departamento del Cauca, ha estado respaldada por una tradición histórica por más de doscientos años aproximadamente, por todo el valle interior andino. Un corredor musical ancestral de cuerdas pulsadas y frotadas. Y cómo alrededor de un instrumento como el violín, han mantenido una vivencia cultural, territorial, económica y política conectada en cruce histórico con Popayán sociedad colonial esclavista que los polemiza
