For some time, technologies have been invading the field of education, providing tools that allow diversity of attention in the field of the teaching-learning process. Indeed, education and Venezuelan society have not been isolated from the application of these technologies in their respective fields, awakening a new growth in interest in the development of knowledge. However, despite the fact that the generation of this 21st century has been the most marked by this vertiginous advance in educational technology, it is no less true that technology has been linked to education for centuries before. Thus, following the bibliographic and documentary research, an attempt was made to discover how the field of educational technology has evolved in Venezuela, offering a path of the contributions that technology has developed in the field of education in the country, emphasizing some decisions taken by the National Government to assimilate the development of educational technology
Desde hace algún tiempo, las tecnologías han incrementado su presencia en el campo de la educación, aportando herramientas que permiten una mayor diversidad de atenciones en el campo del proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje. En efecto, la aplicación de los procesos enseñanza-aprendizaje ha visto distintos cambios con el desarrollo de las herramientas tecnológicas, despertando un nuevo crecimiento en el interés por el desarrollo del conocimiento. No obstante, a pesar de que la generación de este siglo XXI ha sido la mayor marcada por este vertiginoso avance de la tecnología educativa, no es menos cierto que la tecnología ha estado ligada con la educación desde siglos anteriores. Así, siguiendo una técnica de investigación documental, se describió cómo el campo de la tecnología educativa ha ido evolucionando en Venezuela, ofreciendo un acercamiento retrospectivo de cómo se ha desarrollado la tecnología en el campo de la educación en el país, haciendo hincapié en algunas decisiones tomadas por el Ejecutivo Nacional para asimilar el desarrollo de la tecnología educativa, en distintas épocas
